Sustainability Policy

TEK Contracts Ltd is committed to promoting sustainability and running a sustainable business now and in the looking to the future.  Our overall aim is to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help our employees and clients do the same in a shared goal. 

Principles 

Our sustainability policy is based upon the following procedure:

  • To implement sustainability considerations in all areas of our business
  • To minimise the impact on sustainability of all activities
  • To make clients and our suppliers aware of our sustainability policy and encourage them to work alongside us
  • To ensure all of our staff are fully aware of our sustainability policy and are committed to adhering to it, implementing it and improving it
  • To comply with all applicable legislation, regulations, and codes of practice

 

How we achieve our principles:

  • Influence design aspects to ensure buildings, infrastructure, public spaces are suitable for their intended use, sustainable and resilient
  • Increase the sustainability of the construction process
  • Invest in training and development to ensure our staff are able to meet our expectations of a sustainable business
  • Meet industry targets to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from construction activities in line with best practice
  • Keep our use of electricity, gas, and water to a minimum
  • Recycle wherever possible and re-use materials and equipment throughout the business
  • Protect the local wildlife and plants within and around our construction sites
  • Source materials that have the least environmental impact
  • Car share, walk to meetings where this is possible
  • Hold meeting via video call wherever possible to avoid travel
  • Arrange for the correct disposal of recycling, waste, and redundant equipment
  • Only enter into energy contracts with suppliers that are committed to renewable energy and let them advise us on how to best do this within our business
  • Minimise our use of paper and other office consumables
